Song Kang · Biography
The man behind the roles
Early life
Born on 23 April 1994 in Seoul, Song Kang grew up with a quiet passion for storytelling. He trained his discipline and his craft toward one goal — acting — and signed with Namoo Actors, the agency that represents him to this day.
Debut
He made his debut in 2017 in tvN’s The Liar and His Lover, then won hearts as Kim Woo-joo in MBC’s Man in the Kitchen and starred in the web film Beautiful Vampire. Directors noticed a natural, unforced presence on screen.
The Netflix era
Love Alarm (2019) made him a global name, and Sweet Home (2020) made him a star: as Cha Hyun-su, a withdrawn young man fighting the apocalypse and his own demons, he reached audiences in over 190 countries. Fans began calling him the “Son of Netflix”.
Range
In 2021 he learned ballet for Navillera and played the charming, elusive Park Jae-eon in Nevertheless; in 2022 he joined Forecasting Love and Weather, and in 2023 he led the supernatural romance My Demon. Each role, a different man.
Beyond the screen
A sought-after face for luxury houses — Prada, Calvin Klein, Loewe and more — he is known to colleagues as quietly professional and deeply humble, letting the work speak louder than any publicity. After completing his military service he returned in 2026 as piano prodigy Kang Bi-o in Four Hands, Two Sonatas (tvN, Netflix), and is next set to lead MBC’s White Scandal.
